WHO/WHAT ARE THE BACP?- http://www.bacp.co.uk/

The ‘British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists’ is the UK’s foremost professional counselling organisation. BACP participates in the development of counselling at all levels and  is involved in Counselling and Psychotherapy at an international level.

On their site you will be able to - ‘Find a Therapist’ in your area, Look at the ‘Ethical Framework’ I adhere to, and view articles on counselling at the ‘Therapy today’ journal website.

I am also a Registered member of http://www.counselling.ltd.uk/member/5976.html">Counselling  which is another website about Counselling in general and also where you can look for a therapist.

Useful too is http://www.kalimunro.com/ This is a Canadian site. A more elaborate and professional site than my own with some very good explanations about ‘online counselling’ and excellent self help and tips sections.

A note on e-mail counselling
Scientists and writers have long known about the therapeutic benefits of writing about personal experiences, thoughts and feelings. But besides serving as a stress coping mechanism, expressive writing produces many physiological benefits. Research shows that it improves memory and sleep, boosts immune cell activity and even speeds healing after surgery.
